My pet is nervous around strangers — will that be a problem?

Not at all. I allow time for pets to settle, become familiar with me and my equipment, and feel comfortable in their environment. Sessions aren’t time-limited because animals don’t work to a schedule — the best images happen when they’re relaxed and at ease.

My pet isn’t well behaved — does that matter?

No. Animals come with all kinds of personalities, energy levels, and quirks. With patience, understanding, and experience, I work with your pet exactly as they are to capture genuine moments and character. There are no bad pets — just some with extra personality.

My dog can’t be trusted off lead

That’s completely fine. Almost all dogs I photograph remain on lead unless we’re in a fully enclosed area or they have excellent recall. Your pet’s safety and welfare are my top priority. Leads can be removed during post-production in most cases.

Do you photograph animals other than dogs and horses?

Yes. While the majority of my work is with dogs and horses, I also photograph other animals, including cats, and I’m always happy to discuss new or unusual requests.

Can you photograph my pet urgently?

If your pet is elderly or unwell, I will do my very best to arrange a session as soon as possible. I understand how meaningful these moments can be.

Can I be in the photos with my pet?

Absolutely. Capturing the bond between an animal and their person is incredibly special, and you’re very welcome to be included in the session.

How is the shoot location chosen?

I work with you to select a location that suits both the images you’re hoping for and your pet’s comfort level. Outdoor locations such as beaches, gardens, or urban spaces can work beautifully, while home-based sessions are often ideal for young, elderly, or anxious animals. Good natural light is always the priority.

What if the weather is bad?

My photography relies on natural light. If weather conditions aren’t suitable — such as rain, storms, extreme heat, or strong winds — we may need to reschedule. Sometimes this may happen more than once, and I appreciate your patience. Calm conditions and good light make a big difference to the final images.

Are you associated with any animal welfare or charity organisations?

Yes. Giving back is an important part of my work. I am a member of Hearts Speak, volunteer with organisations including Forever Friends Animal Rescue, and proudly support Harmony Reins Animal Haven, where I sponsor Rosie, a rescued Clydesdale mare.

My involvement includes both photography and hands-on support. A portion of every photography session booked with me is donated to my chosen animal welfare organisations.
