Giving Back

Giving back is a core part of what I do.

I volunteer my time and skills with two animal welfare shelters, supporting them through both photography and hands-on care. Through photography, I aim to capture an animal’s true spirit — because sometimes it really is as simple as the right photo helping an animal find their forever home. Alongside that, I’m there for the everyday moments too: clean bedding, good walks, gentle fuss, and the comfort of a cuddle.

There’s something deeply joyful about the wag and wiggle of an animal who knows you’ve come just to give them kindness and attention.

I am also a proud sponsor of Rosie, a beautiful Clydesdale mare who was rescued and is now cared for by Harmony Reins Animal Haven.

To date, I have helped save seven dogs through the Forever Friends Animal Rescue – Rescue Ready Sponsorship Program. Through this program, sponsorship funds are used to rescue at risk animals from pounds, provide immediate veterinary care, and place them into foster care while their individual needs are addressed and a forever home is found. Being part of giving an animal a second chance is something I feel deeply grateful for.

Looking ahead, my 2026 goal is to help save a further six animals through the Container Deposit Scheme, raising funds by recycling bottles and cans. This approach supports the animals I wish to help, benefits the environment, and keeps me active — a true win for everyone involved.

I have also published my first children’s book, My Name Is Mac, through Vivid Publishing. The story follows a small dog’s journey — and his challenges — in finding a home and a family. At its heart, the book shares an important message about hope and resilience. Half of the printed copies were donated to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, whose mission is to keep children safe from violence.

I believe every animal and every child deserves love, security, and a safe place to belong.
